Stephen Burnett
A veteran of the Canadian tourism industry, Stephen Burnett has spent almost 40 years working in every facet of his profession.

His experience covers product development, tour operating, wholesaling and retailing in domestic, outbound and inbound industry segments.

Stephen’s career includes management positions with Globus Holidays, Four Winds Holidays, Holiday House, and Fiesta Holidays. He was President of Toronto-based Horizon Holidays, where, among other accomplishments, he worked closely with Germany’s Oberammergau Passion Play – one of the largest cultural tourism events in Europe – extending its marketing reach in North America. Subsequently, Stephen became Vice-President of Product Development for Jonview Canada - the country’s largest in-bound tour operator.

While at Jonview, he chaired Canada’s Learning Travel Forum. More recently, Stephen was the Vice-President of Canadian Cultural Landscapes, a Quebec City-based cultural tour operator, where he was responsible for business development. In Ontario, he played a pivotal role in developing Great Lakes cruising as Executive Director of the Great Lakes Cruising Coalition.

Carl Bray
Carl Bray is Senior Associate. He is a professional landscape architect and heritage planner with graduate degrees in urban design and cultural geography. He has over 25 years of professional experience in all aspects of land use and tourism planning and has successfully completed projects across Canada and in the United States, the Caribbean and Great Britain.

Dr. Bray specializes in the research, planning, design and development of cultural heritage resources as tourism products. His work has included development feasibility studies for interpretive centres at major historic sites and natural reserves, conservation plans and development guidelines for historic districts and communities, long range management plans for museums, interpretive plans, and heritage master plans. His clients include a full range of federal, provincial and municipal public agencies as well as private development corporations and tourism operators.

His working method involves local communities throughout each project and he is an experienced facilitator. Recent projects have included the Vancouver Island Interpretive Centre in the Mount Arrowsmith Biosphere Reserve, the Heritage Master Plan for the City of Niagara Falls, interpretive and conservation planning for the Cobalt National Historic Mining District, the development master plan for Ruthven Park National Historic Site on the Lower Grand River, and the cultural tourism development plan for Malmaison Mansion historic site in Greenwood, Mississippi.

Dr. Bray’s earlier projects included an inventory, evaluation and site development plans for natural and cultural heritage sites throughout the island of Barbados, and the master plans for Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park and Pedro St. James Historic Site in Grand Cayman, B.W.I,
